AN acreage on Tasmania’s East Coast headlined a busy week for big sales in Tasmania.

The latest figures from realestate.com.au show No.14106 Tasman Highway at Swansea was sold for $1.35 million.

A property in Luttrell Avenue, Bellerive, fetched $1.29 million; No.69 Brighton Road at Brighton was sold for $1.2 million; and a home in Talune Street at Lindisfarne went for $1 million.

The Swansea property, known as Belmont Homestead, is a grand colonial home set on a picturesque 5.8ha.

Dine in style.

It has a rich heritage dating back to 1892, gorgeous gardens and a dreamy in-ground pool and hot tub area.

It also offers a business venture that includes accommodation, long-term rental and storage.

PRD Hobart senior property representative Jodi Hansson described the property as “amazing and unique”.

She said the property had received a huge amount of interest from local and interstate buyers.

“Potential buyers included investors looking to grow the business side of the property, and those just looking for an incredible lifestyle with a generous but passive income on the side,” Jodi said.

“Our eventual purchasers were based in New South Wales and had to sell their property as part of the sale, which took some time due to COVID-19.

“They plan to retire here in Tasmania to enjoy the lifestyle that Belmont Homestead offers and continue to run the business as an income stream.”

She said COVID-19 posed some hurdles for the subsequent settlement and relocation, with purchasers now facing a 14-day isolation period in Government-approved accommodation when they arrive in Tasmania.

“They are incredibly happy and looking forward to moving into their new home in early June,” Jodi said.
