The 708 sqm block at 12 Dudley St Auburn, features a home in need of a new kitchen and bathroom that has been used as a rental for the last 15 years as well as the year-old two-bedroom granny flat.

The auction, according to Starr Partners agent Steve Sanders, attracted 11 registered bidders, with four of them going “hammer and tongs” to secure the property.

“There are so many auctions where you really have to push but this listing was a pretty popular corner block and the bidders didn’t wat to muck around.

“We had 35 contracts issued, over 54 buyer inquiries and around 41 inspections and on the day it was all over in about five to six minutes.

The near-new kitchen in the granny flat opens out to the combined dining and living room.

“Corner blocks are quite popular in the area and this is a good sized block on the high side of the street … the new owners are locals and I find we tend to get majority of buyers coming from within the local area, whether they are upgrading or downgrading and the majority grew up in the community.”
