Sweet Home Alabama Star Josh Lucas Sells Eco-Friendly Home for $2.197 Million

Not long after Josh Lucas listed his eco-friendly home in L.A.’s Laurel Canyon, the Ford v Ferrari actor has reportedly found a buyer. The three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom house sold for $2.197 million, which is just under his asking price and a substantial gain for the star, considering the $452,000 he paid for it in 2002.

Though the home was originally built in 1924, it has undergone a substantial renovation to reflect more modern times, implementing “exclusively green, eco-friendly design principles,” according to the listing. The sleek, modern exterior is composed of wood, steel, and glass, and sliding doors in the living room and formal dining area create an indoor-outdoor feel. The living room itself is an inviting space with a floor-to-ceiling flagstone fireplace.

The galley-style kitchen is equal parts practical and aesthetically pleasing, with stone countertops and a built-in dining banquette on one end and a wooden, latern-like lighting fixture hanging above the dining space. An unobtrusive wine refrigerator is tucked into the side of a wall of built-in wooden cabinets. Upstairs, the master suite takes up much of the second floor, with a separate sitting area, a walk-in closet, and access to a wraparound balcony overlooking the backyard. In addition to the two other en-suite guest bedrooms, there is also a separate home office located in its own wing, with easy access to the wraparound balcony. The backyard, entirely lined with thick-grown bamboo, is an oasis of calm, with a saltwater swimming pool and spa, and ample space to lounge. In total, the dwelling spans 2,835 square feet.
