Topher Grace recently sold off his midcentury-modern ranch house in Studio City, California, at a slight loss. The That ’70s Show star reportedly got $2.45 million for the single-story residence, compared to the $2.5 million he and wife Ashley Grace (née Hinshaw) paid for it less than three years ago. The couple, who are currently expecting their second child together, purchased and moved into a slightly larger 1940s traditional home for $2.975 million home late last year.
Their former midcentury dwelling comprises four bedrooms and three bathrooms spread out across approximately 2,700 square feet, and despite its unassuming exterior, it is fully updated inside. The combination living, dining, and kitchen space has wide-plank hardwood floors, plus an entire wall of black-metal-framed glass sliders overlooking the backyard, a built-in entertainment unit, and a white stone fireplace.
Elsewhere in the home are three guest bedrooms and a master suite, which overlooks the backyard swimming pool and boasts a custom-fitted walk-in closet and impressive white marble bathroom with a glass-enclosed steam shower and a modern deep-soaking tub set under a skylight. The largest of the three guest bedrooms is located in its own wing of the house, and could easily be converted into a home office or media lounge. Out back, a covered patio provides ample room for a spacious lounging and/or dining area, and the clear blue pool is built into the lawn. An extra perk of the backyard is a teak outdoor shower tucked off to the side of the space.
Grace’s previous real-estate investments include a bungalow perched above the Sunset Strip, which he bought for $1.6 million in 2006 and sold for $1.7 million in 2015, and an apartment in New York City’s West Village that he sold for $4.2 million in 2017.
